Thaumatin is a natural derived protein (yes, protein!) that comes from the West African katemfe fruit, is used as a natural low-calorie sweetener and taste modifier. There have been a large number of studies investigating the safety of thaumatin, all showing that it is completely safe to consume!

Is it normal for my pre-workout powder to have clumping?

Yes! It is completely normal for clumping to occur, as some of the active ingredients used are hygroscopic in nature, which means that they have the tendency to draw moisture out of the air. But don't worry, as this naturally occurs, it does not effect the potency or quality of the pre-workout whatsoever. So if you see any clumps, feel free to just break it and shake it!
